Ponoć wciąż rosnie rocznie o 3%. Domek na domku z dachem z blachy, zabitymi oknami zrobiony z czego natura dała. Wszędzie- koło domku, na betonie, trawie leżą lub siedza ludzie, w większości uśmiechnięci i machający do nas. Wyglądają na szczęśliwych. Większość żyje z uprawy warzyw, owoców, przypraw, ryżu czy trzciny cukrowej. Dzięki temu mają co jeść oraz mogą zarobić co nieco sprzedając swoje uprawy na bazarze w stone town lub przy drogach na swoich wsiach.

The size of the island can be compared to Fuerteventura with a difference that population of Fuerteventura is 115 thousand and Zanzibar is 1.3 million and is still rising by 3% annually. Houses made out of materials provided by nature are everywhere. All around- people either lying or sitting on the ground waving at us with a big smile on their faces. They look happy as a dog with two tails. Most people live off cultivating vegetables, fruit, spices,rice or sugar cane.That way they don’t suffer from shortage of food and also make a bit of money selling their fresh products on the market in Stone town or just outside their homes next to the road.
